The gym routinely misleads customers on the 'deposit' for the key fob. When you join they tell you it is refundable over the phone, and then when you close your membership they say it was purchased and refuse to return the money. I have called under the guise of a prospective new starter and the same thing happened - they say it is refundable on the phone, then when I followed up on email they said it was a 'mistake' and offered to give the fob half price. It's a complete scam - 35 for a piece of disposable plastic. Just a way for the gym to gratuitously inflate their income at the expense of customers.
