They seem to have closed and are not responding to members requests regarding refunds... I can see in companies house they are in liquidation as well, so it looks like it is a lost cause.

*** UPDATE *** My bad, the gym hasn't gone bust - the railway arches where they're located need some remedial works, the manager says. The gym has offered membership fee reimbursements. *** EARLIER POST *** Just a warning that this gym seems to have gone bust. Theyve suddenly put a padlock on the door and the website says its closed temporarily. Really sucks given many members are on annual memberships. Also a shame as it was a good gym.

I regret having to write this, MBG was not only a fitness gym with a fantastic communal feel, but a great place to meet other like minded individuals and it scored so high on being personable, clean, and local. Its now been over 3 months since the gym was closed unexpectedly. We were informed this was due to imminent remedial works in the arches, but in the last 3 months I havent seen anything of the sort. There was an email sent out to everyone to discuss cancellation of memberships. My question is whilst direct debits have been cancelled, what about pre-paid annual memberships? Many have paid this ahead and what is the procedure in compensating this back? There has been no follow up on this whatsoever. I presume bankruptcy? There has been no news from any of the gym management team regarding monetary compensation or its future. This is terribly sad because the venue and people were fantastic and highly regarded in the locality, and the lack of any correspondence renders it quite unprofessional. The following notice from the gates of MBG as now been put up. Regarding any equipment that may have been left behind by gym goers so they can retrieve their items. Once again, incredibly sad to see such a wonderful place shut with very little notice and very little communication with its members.
