Visited for an impromptu drink on route back from an evening walk on the beach. One of the strangest experiences Ive ever had. Reluctant to acknowledge my group waiting to be served. Eventually we managed to order a drink for one person in our party then the barman disappeared for about 10 minutes, reappeared and then had a brief exchange with another customer without even a nod in our direction, then started dealing with glasses. Gave up and left. The moment had been killed. Despite my experience Im reassured by the other reviews. Perhaps it was us? Failing to observe a Goudhurst medieval tradition or bylaw?
