We parked up at the main visitors carpark which I'd imagine would get full quickly. However, there were plenty of other small carparks dotted around the park. The visitor centre car park was only 1 which you can pay by card or app which is very well priced. The walk it's self is short and it only took us around 50 minutes to get around but it's pleasant with some nice picknick spots. There is a small Caffe there which did the usual bits and was also nice. On site it had toilets, was dog friendly and a play park for kids which seemed like a mini assault course.

Beacon Fell in Preston is a stunning nature reserve that offers a fantastic hiking experience. The area is well-maintained, and the trail is not too steep, making it accessible to hikers of all skill levels. The scenery is breathtaking, with beautiful trees and open fields to explore. The highlight of the trail is the stunning viewpoint, which offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. The park also has a lovely cafe and picnic area, making it an ideal spot to relax and unwind after a long hike. Overall, Beacon Fell is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a peaceful and enjoyable hiking experience in the Preston area.

It was a school holiday but the visitor centre was closed it only opens half of the week which in winter is understandable but not on a holiday break many including us were very disappointed. Many of the paths are degrading and horse manure is a big problem on some of the paths forcing you to walk off the path on the muddy verge. Basically there is a lack of general maintenance probably through lack of money and staff.
