I visited the practice in-person to book eye exams for my 2 youngsters. I was told by the 2 individuals (one was the optometrist) that my 11 month old was too young but the 3 year old was fine. I booked him in to be seen today. I received a phone call yesterday confirming we were attending the appointment and the lady took details over the phone including date of birth of my son. I then received an sms asking me to confirm attendance, I replied YES. After reaching the practice today for the 12pm appointment with baby in pram and with son alongside, I am then told that my 3 year old is too young to be seen and they do not have the facilities to see him, they only see kids from the age of 4 - 4 and a half. My son will be 4 years old in less than 2 weeks. We were not seen and turned away. Absolutely ridiculous waste of time and highly unprofessional. Just to be clear, they asked the age when booking the appointment in (with optometrist right there) and the date of birth was taken the day before the appointment. Will not be returning.

I have been attending Downes Eyecare for the past couple of months and have been very impressed by their customer service, staff are professional, welcoming and very helpful. Ive had a lovely experience every time, highly recommend to others!

We were struggling for the appointments of eye check-up for homeless people. Downes eye-care was the only eye care who helped to treat the homeless people in the most effective and efficient manner. Thanks for all your support. The homeless people are very delighted with their treatment and this has been the best place to visit for the eye-checkup.
