Bell Inn Godstone

The food was truly awful. I ordered the chefs special of the lamb rump roast and was asked how I liked it done. I said medium. It arrived totally grey and was basically all fat and gristle. The gravy was thin and oily, veg bland and potatoes undercooked. Even the Yorkshire pud was like cardboard. Husband had the sirloin roast and was just as bad. My son had the seafood linguine and the noodles were badly cooked and the prawns seemed to have been frozen. Daughter had kids sliders and they didnt even look or taste like ground beef. Some awful pre made frozen fare. Such a shame as its a really lovely pub and atmosphere. But the quality of ingredients and cooking is so subpar especially for how expensive it is. Will never be back unless some major improvements happen.

The atmosphere was nice and staff very friendly, but Im really sorry to say that the food was below average. The linguine was very small compared to the other meals and very dry with stuck together pasta. The pork belly roast had a very small and dry piece of pork and the avocado und bacon salad was missing the avocado, rectified quickly, but also very dry bacon. Its a shame as the pub is nice otherwise. Hopefully just a bad one off as most other reviews very good.
