Difficult to commuincate with and unsatisfactory work. Surveyor came out to reinspect at my cost and I was told we would have to pay even more for it to be rectified despite having a guarentee in place. Do your self a favour and find a company that can offer a full package and don't waste your time

Alpine Preservations recently completed damp proofing in our Victorian house. They were professional, friendly, efficient and did a really good job (the replastering in particular was very well finished). The customer service was excellent - we had two surveys a year apart, both of which were arranged quickly and at no cost (contrary to the negative comments below). The other companies we contacted were either more expensive or never got back to us. I would not hesitate to recommend this small, local, family business.

I have never written a negative review for any company before, but our experience with Alpine Preservations was shocking - do not pay them for a damp report. They completed our damp report with no issues (though did have to be chased up a lot), but when we contacted them two months later upon moving in to the property to arrange the recommended work they just stopped contacting us back. Initially, I called three times to ask to speak to the surveyor. When he eventually called back, he told me it was too late on a Friday (5.30pm ....) and to call back when I had re-read the report (even though I had it open in front of me). This was the last time we heard from him, around 6 weeks ago now. My partner called on the Monday morning and asked to speak to him - we thought maybe he had an issue with women - and was told he would get a call back. Nothing. I have since called back twice, and sent multiple emails - nothing. We are now being forced to pay another surveyor, which means yet another 100+ down the drain. Absolutely appalling, despicable customer service. 1* is too much.

DONT TRUST THIS COMPANY- Awful customer service - hard to get hold of, rude surveyor - was initially told it would be a free survey only to then be told Im the surveyor, I can charge what I like - then charged 99. Survey was incomplete - he didnt even go into all of the rooms which caused problems with the vendors as he had said they didnt let him go into all of the rooms. Was then quoted nearly 5k worth of work including replastering. Instincts told us not to go with them as the vibe was really off. Had another survey by another brilliant company and told the house internally is DRY and the 5k was a complete LIE - would have had all this work done for absolutely NO REASON. Advised by the new company not to touch Alpine as they are cowboys - dont trust them! Disgusting to not be truthful, there are vulnerable people out there that could be being ripped off - be cautious and if it doesnt feel right, it isnt right.

We have just had Alpine Preservations to damp proof a cellar that we want to use as a childrens playroom/cinema. They were very efficient and did it very well - installing damproof membrane, insulating and then plastering . Their operatioves were charming and good at their jobs and it looks great as well as being thoroughly done. My husband is a surveyor and was very pleased with their work. I cannot recommend them highly enough. I found them easy to contact
