Matthew O'Neill at Grillo LLP has been very helpful in a painful process involving Target HCA for a Help to Buy property. Whenever I have contacted him to request updated documents and valuations he has been quick to respond and so accommodating. I would definitely use Grillo again. Thank you Matthew.

David Lewis at Grillo LLP was so helpful in advising us when recently buying our first home. The survey was the easiest part of the whole transaction! He rang to discuss what was required before recommending the appropriate type of survey and then organised a suitable time frame in which to carry it out. Following the survey he rang to discuss a brief outline of his findings before we received a smart looking report in the post. In summary - 5 star professional service, at an agreeable price, from a friendly chap who I would happily recommend to others.

My partner left a review here some time ago detailing the poor service and attitude of this firm. I see that is has since been removed and that Mr Richman has tried to suggest there was an ulterior motive. I can assure Mr Richman (who also appears to be Mr Gillo's web designer from Plug & Play - isn't Google a wonderful thing?) that there is no ulterior motive other than to forewarn others to this companies service. I also think it's incredibly poor form and another very evident illustration to how this firm have no interest in what people think. Rather than deleting poor reviews, I'd suggest you offer a better service and avoid receiving them in the first place.

I have used Grillo LLP for Surveying both my current property, and my previous property. On both occasions they have been extremely professional and thorough, while also providing great value for money. I'm horrified by the other reviews on here, and can only assume that at the very best they have mistakenly posted reviews for the wrong business, or they have some other agenda. Having engaged Grillo LLP on more than one occasion I can, and have, recommended them to family and friends a like.

We commissioned an extensive Survey of Condition of a property from David Lewis, of Grillo, in July 2017 and so far, we have been very pleased with it. We were looking to buy an (unlisted) house in Surrey dating from around the 1620s. It had been added to over the centuries, including a large, modern kitchen-and-bedroom addition about a decade ago. We knew we wanted a detailed survey, from someone who understands period houses. Even so, I hesitated at first as this survey wasnt cheap and it was paid for all up-front. To help make the decision, I spoke to David, and was reassured. As far as I could tell from a phone call, he seemed like a straight-forward, trustworthy, old-school-professional sort-of-chap who seems to know what he was doing. So we went for it! A few weeks later, we received a very detailed 68-page report, dotted with photos, and clearly steeped in knowledge and experience of building techniques through the ages. Whilst it included a scattering of caveats, which seem standard for any surveyors report, it was detailed and insightful in its investigations. He had gone through the place with a fine tooth-comb, and the report was clear about what was important for us to focus on going forward. In passing, he discovered a rather waterlogged cellar, which had somehow slipped the owners mind when preparing the particulars for the house; and his comments on the heating system alone certainly saved us more than the price of the survey. After receiving the report, we had a chat with David about the property. He was generous with his time, answering our questions in a practical way and elaborating on what he thought. All-in-all, Its been very useful as we have now bought the house, and are planning some renovations before we move in with the help of this report and an architect. Looking back, this report was an investment. Were glad that we made it. If we ever come to buy another property, wed go straight to David at Grillo, as we think that his knowledge and experience are worth the money.
