The medical, administrative and resource-based rating for my review is known to the clinic. I hope that Newmedica (Gloucester and Head Office) will act on the information provided to save others in similar circumstances from equally stressful and exasperating experiences - in addition to ongoing treatment (elsewhere) to address poor outcomes. Above all, I hope the consultant, whose patient I was, will counsel patients with complex eyes about the specific risks to their vision that certain premium lenses present - not least when the patient is referred for NHS treatment - rather than private - in the first place. No patient should ever be told by a consultant (months after surgery) that he had taken a risk with putting a particular type of premium lens in a patients eye - without ever having thought to advise the patient he was taking such risk(s) beforehand. Patients need to be fully informed of specific risks they face as individuals to prepare them for unexpected and stressful outcomes.

Everyone very professional and friendly. I had put off being referred for 2 years but need not have worried! Painless procedure and could see clearly immediately after surgery. I now realise how poor my eyesight was, cobwebs now visible I feel a cleaning frenzy sometime soon !! Looking forward to having the other eye done!

Absolute perfect job, couldn't have had better if I'd been a private patient, everything about the entire operation has been excellent. Can't wait for the other one to be done. Very very highly recommended.
