Sale experience absolutely fine. It would be because that's when you can walk away... I always feel aftersales is where you truly see a companies values and colours. Since moving into the home we have had no end of people coming to correct simple remedial work. I am aware that things go wrong with new homes and expect that from time to time people will need to visit to fix issues. Not an problem. However since moving into the property a year ago, we have had work carried out that on 3 separate occasions people have had to come back 3 times to correct. 9 visits in total for 3 things alone. I've lost count now with the total amount but as per below. Leaking shower - mastic has been replaced 3 times and ceiling repainted twice. Paint work - 4 visits now. Have ruined all wood work on the stairs and asked me to use my own painter and decorator - I did suggest this but its beyond belief a home builder can't find their own decent painter. Ceiling tape joints in kitchen - repaired twice. Oven - broken on move into home. Repaired twice already. Letterbox - broken on move into home. Site manager Jane who is aware of all the issues while on site, hasn't even got the decency to pop her head in and see if we need any help or even try and reassure us that our issues are being taken seriously - I have to request that she visits me. Contracts manager Ian was meant to turn up to visit to discuss issues. No show. Then blames how busy he is and he's got confused with where he's meant to be - that's not a customers fault. Employ more people or if you can't handle the job, don't take it on? The list of trivial annoying things goes on. However what my biggest frustration is - they have ZERO ACCOUNTABILITY. Pete Chapman will only ever blame the guys who have come to do the repair. Yet Newland homes are the ones that continuingly send people round who won't just do the job right the first time? It would seem sensible to me to change your work force. I have lost numerous days off hanging around for these repairs. Which I've got to the point I'm requiring to claim compensation due to wasting holidays I can't get back. Bought a house from Taylor Wimpey 7 years ago and chalk and cheese. It is only that I took my friend on our pre move visit to inspect the house who is a contracts manager for another company that we didn't have more issues when we moved in. He found 4 pages of A4 that they had to correct before we'd even moved in. Newland will sell you a dream and then completely take the shine off of it with hideous aftersales care. AVOID. COWBOYS.
