My husband spent the last nineteen months of his life at St. Ben's where he was always treated with kindness, empathy and patience. All his needs were met to the full with dignity and respect. Wonderful meals were prepared to his individual dietary needs and beautifully presented. His room was clean and had fresh bed linen daily. His birthday was celebrated with a magnificent cake. Throughout his time at St. Ben's the staff were a great support to me especially when he passed away. I cannot thank them enough. They are true Angels.

I am writing this review to make people aware and warn people what we went through and to think twice if you are considering placing your loved ones here. This is after our experience when our grandad was placed here on a interim basis by the hospital who was a very well loved man and deserved so much better. Due to covid and him having to self isolate by the time we were able to see him it was too late to for us to be able to get him home. We were asked to drop off personal belongings to make his room homely, when we went in once we were allowed none of these were our and were still in the bag in the corner of his room. His room was not nice and cosy at all like we said it would be, which is a basic thing to help. Unfortunately his room was disgusting, including food/juice sprayed up the wall including blood, not only was his room dirty it also had broken basic furniture, and needed a bit of decorating. He was denied his basic rights and they failed to medicate him when he was in pain. Frog marched him across the room in a hoist when needed the toilet. Getting Simple things like calling him the wrong name, isnt good and its not nice, not to even spend the time to do the research to see what he was called. Including loosing his items and not returning all his belongings when he has passed away, even when we were asked to name them and spent a long time doing this. One particular member of staff was rude, dishonest, spoke about others in a very rude way in front of patients and visitors, calling them a loud mouthed cow had no empathy what so ever and I wouldnt want my worst enemy to be cared for by her. Please avoid this home at all costs and please dont put your loved ones in here as we wouldnt want anyone to go through what we had to as a family.
