Shockingly poor members of the care team and management putting clients lives at risk. About two months ago I witnessed a neighbour of mine that is a carer for Candlelight stood talking to her friend that lives opposite me quite loudly running a client down in an offensive and disrespectful way. My windows were open and I heard every word. Later that day I messaged a relative that is a social worker for advice as I really didnt think this was acceptable whether names were mentioned or not. I didnt report it at that time because the covid outbreak worsened and I have my own health issues to deal with. Since that time I witnessed the same carer, a woman, failing to socially distance from her neighbours, regularly stood within two feet of them, discussing clients and certainly NOT socially distancing or respecting the privacy of the clients in any way. Still very shocked at this behaviour being that she is visiting many clients and potentially spreading the deadly virus I contemplated reporting her to the company and my mind was made up when I glanced out of an upstairs window as I went to close it and saw the womans father, husband and her in their back garden all together socialising and all within two feet of each other for quite a length of time . Her father does NOT live with them. At that point the safety of the vulnerable clients became more important to me than anything else and so I called the local number for candlelight on that Sunday. Spoke to a lady whose name I do have but wont mention as the whole incident is now in the hands of the Care Quality Commissioners. I explained all of the above and she agreed that it was unacceptable in light of the pandemic. I explained to the woman that I wished my name to be kept confidential as I myself have health issues and only live a couple of doors from this woman. However, I wanted to let them know who I was so they had my contact details to supply them with evidence and also to reinforce my being genuine. She assured me my name would be kept strictly confidential and told me she would speak with the manager Monday and suggest a letter is sent out to all employees emphasising the express importance of socially distancing and not having visitors to their homes as it would put clients at risk. She suggested I call Monday morning to speak with the manageress. 1. Called manageress to discover she had spoken to the carer already, disclosed my name to her, told me she hadnt done anything wrong and then hung up on me! 2.Complaint raised to main manageress on instruction from Care Quality Commissioners. 3. Response to my complaint concerning breach of data and confidentiality, carer acting inappropriately and manageress hanging up on me from Candlelight Manager; I have read through all the Emails that you have sent to me and I am now in a position to advise you that your complaint, on this occasion, has not been upheld due to the evidence being of multiple hearsay. In addition to this, Candlelight Care do not want to be a part of any neighbourhood feud. For 9 weeks Ive been shielding as a severely vulnerable person with a serious condition and not had one single person in my home throughout. A carer brings my shopping and prescriptions Leaving them at my door and a friend does my gardening, it was my birthday two days ago. My daughter and her boyfriend bought me a present and sat in my garden whilst I stayed indoors at least 3 metres behind a stable door. No contact.Today the police called on me following a neighbour complaint that Im having a lot of male visitors and not following social distancing.this is the type of carer they employ. One that not only put clients at risk but lie their way out of it and then lies to police to waste their time too out of spite. Obviously the police went away satisfied. This was never a feud, it was fact. Ive lived here 18 years and not feuded with this woman. My concerns were solely for the safety of the clients. Avoid this company at all costs, untrustworthy at every level that I experienced. Complaint Is now with The CQC.
