I really want to give this place a higher rating. The hosts are great and it was fantastic for the kids to stay on a farm and see the animals (including a calf hours old). However the cottage itself just doesn't live up to the expectations I've got used to from staying in other places. Pros: lots of space, big rooms, fresh eggs on welcome, three bathrooms, selection of books. Cons: shower leaked, the oven set the smoke alarm off before you even put anything in it, dust/dirt round the edges of all the carpets, grime round the back of the hob, somewhat poorly equipped kitchen (blunt knives). The whole place needs a thorough clean, looks very dated and in need of a facelift. Not the worse place I've stayed in but certainly not the best. Want to like it more.
