Southern Hill Hospital

I was in Pearson ward for nearly two months and cannot stress enough how horrible a place this is. Youll see a doctor like once a week and only for a short time and they wont listen to what you actually say. Majority of the time youre left to your own devices in a tiny room that has a blue slab instead of a bed. The nurses barely even speak English and are incredibly rude and unhelpful. The night nurses are even worse and sing at 3am in the morning while the patients are trying to sleep. One evening, a fellow patient was having an epileptic seizure and was screaming for help while the nurses ignored him and continued to chat outside my room. Phil is notably a horrible person, very two faced and acts like your best friend whilst he does everything in his power to make your stay much worse.

I was a paitent on ward for about 4 weeks. Paitents voices were not heard and communication was a huge barrier. No activities on the ward as stated there should be and this has a detrimental effect on recovery. Staff on shift, most wouldn't engage. There were nurses and few staff who cared and knew how to approach and engage. One person safety officer was amazing and listened to me. I do feel there needs to be improvements on ward with activities and staff engagement and better training on how to support individuals to their specific needs. However I also see paitents recover and become well. Great psycharacists who cared about their paitents. I left making lifetime friends and some of them are now home to.

Looking after Daughter thank you to all the staff Beautiful location Great place and staff cannot thank them enough I visited every other day and saw a team that cared from reception to ward staff
