I took the car to Lodge Motors and asked for a COMPLETE check, including the thermostat and cooling system which I knew was failing.... The staff was friendly. I was charged 1300 which was the quoted price.
A couple month later the car broke down again on my way to my home country (Switzerland) to get some more work done with an MR2 Specialist.
We then realized that the thermostat was broken and the cooling system was covered in red paste, sign of rust mixed with coolant (see photos). We also checked the timing belt which was dented all round. The housing was also covered with black dust from the belt, it was clearly old and should have been replaced after a proper check.
Now, I know that Lodge Motors did fix certain elements of my car. But they've left unchecked important components of the engine which resulted in another breakdown when I drove it for the first time over a long distance.
It is the first time I ever write a negative review and I hate to do this against a small independent business but I feel the need to share this experience.
For the price Ive paid I was hoping for a better service
