BEWARE: Get quotes and not estimates. Ideally only have 1/the same designer, so the site runs identically on each page/link and throughout. Write a clear brief and get them to sign off on it. Make sure that there is no restrictive or bespoke coding so that you cant make the changes yourself. Otherwise you will have to pay them extra to have things changed. Make sure you get regular descriptive reports on time/cost. Ask them to let you know how much work is still to be done at a halfway point so you dont get told that you have gone over budget at any stage. Dont accept anyone talking down to you because you dont understand website language. Let them know you are a novice. Dont believe claims that they come in under budget. Check how they train you and what support they give you. Get referrals, look at client websites and check an active website they have created that matches your idea not just a page layout. Check that they dont threaten to delete your website if there are any issues. Check they dont charge you for doing a job more than once if it is their error. Check how long the job will take. I had all the above problems with Dorset Tech. And my simple website took 6 months, they did not create a bespoke site as initially discussed they used Elementor. Their charges doubled within the last few weeks. I found another website designer who charges 30/hour. He re-created my design/website for 200. Having paid 1550 to Dorset Tech.

As an IT professional there are few people I would trust my equipment with but I wouldn't hesitate to use Dorset Tech again -knowledgeable- trustworthy - competitively priced and extremely helpful.
