Chung Ying House

Fine until it goes wrong. We've eaten here before and the food was nice. Last week the lady who answered the phone was new, flustered and couldn't work out the menu. The delivery arrived an hour later than expected (after we phoned to check where it was twice) and the driver said it was chaos as almost every order had gone out wrong. He charged me nearly double the menu cost, and asked me to check the food and call back the following day. Our "vegetarian meal" consisted of prawn dumplings, beef chow mein and a load of rice. We called to get it changed but had no reply. The following day I phoned. I explained I wasn't complaining (we all have bad days) but would just like a refund for the meat dishes which went in the bin. This is where it went wrong. The (different) woman who answered was rude and defensive. She cut me off at the start of every sentence and when I asked her not to, she said she didn't want me to waste my time continuing as she didn't believe a word I was saying (these were her exact words!) . I explained that I had been asked to call to resolve this and she said that she thought this was highly unlikely. I asked to leave my number for the people who had spoken to me on the night of the order to call me back and she said it was a waste of time as no-one would bother. We've been lucky to find a lovely takeaway nearby to use instead. I liked the food at Chung Ying but I just can't order from a place who are so totally disinterested in, and rude to, their customers. So 4 stars for the chef, but 0 for customer service.

Favorite dish is salt and pepper chicken, such a good price for a big portion and the boss will even put extra samosas for free! I highly recommend this place.

such a big menu, and im never disappointed when i order from there. I really like the satay sauce stir fry chicken dish! you should order it.
