The Stables: Fantastic holiday cottage

We have just returned from a long weekend staying at the Stables. The cottage is a fantastic winter retreat - cosy and warm with or without the use of the log burner. Very high standard of accommodation, impeccably clean and extremely well equipped. The village was peaceful but both pubs were vibrant and friendly as well as serving excellent food. And the little village shop was well stocked for the essentials we needed. The stunning Putsborough beach is a short walk from the cottage as is Croyde and Woolacombe. No need to use the car at all! I'll definitely be returning to the Stables in summer 2023.

Disappointing. We have stayed here before about 10 years ago and it was lovely then but it has since changed ownership. We booked this for our daughters birthday and she enjoyed it, however its not what it used to be:- mouldy shower heads, tiles and shower cubicles. Bunk beds that have mattresses on that breach the rules because the mattresses are too tall (they arent original) so they sit at almost the same level at the top of the protective side bar - children could easily roll out of the top bunk and land on a tiled floor. I gave both the Owner and Choice Cottages the opportunity to do make amends but they have ignored my emails. Neither will get a penny from us again!
