Really really poor service, I get my eye test and glasses through work, options for opticians isnt great all small independent opticians. Gave Thompson a shot as theyre only a 10 minute drive, thought eye test went fine. Got shown frames I could get for free, chose a pair I liked and put 20.00 towards them. Was told 7 days, not a problem. 15 days later I am still waiting for them, I have phoned several days in a row now to be told the frames have arrived back with no lenses in, so have had to be sent back out as a priority. Meanwhile Im having to wear old glasses and suffer with headaches. Keep being told its because I didnt go for the free ones even though I am helping small businesses by purchasing frames from their line. Will not be using again.

I am very disappointed with the service I received. I bought a pair of glasses a year ago which has since broken while sat on my face 3times. The last time was 16days ago and they said that it is because the frames cannot support my prescribed lenses... Why would they have not mentioned this when I bought them or after the first or second time they had broke? For the past two weeks I have had to wear a pair of glasses that are 5years old, suffering headaches and sore eyes due to squinting. I cannot afford to buy more glasses right now, I received an NHS voucher when I bought my glasses and even when I chose the cheaper pair and used the voucher it was still expensive, they said they will get them fixed. I called last week they still had my glasses sitting there, my husband called yesterday and today and was told someone will look at them tomorrow, and yeah they're still sitting there in the shop(my glasses). I will NEVER go here again as I feel extremely disappointed and let down by people claiming they care about the eye health and care of their customers, when they have let me sit in pain for the past two weeks not helping me at all and in no rush to help me either. I would have hoped the glasses to have lasted longer than the 3months they lasted originally for before the 1st time they broke. They had the cheek to say I should have bought a 2nd pair, which I would have but I could not afford it, which made me feel embarrassed and ashamed and have left me feeling like I am the one who has done something wrong.

Customer service is beyond poor. I felt patronised and undermined the minute I stepped in. First eye test I undergone was rushed and the optician was more concerned about the fact that I haven't had an eye test in years. The prescription was wrong but they have tried to say it's adjustment period and I should wear them although I couldn't see through the glasses. After an argument optician does second eye test and low and behold initial prescription was wrong but you guessed it it was my fault through lack of communication. The second appointment was on the 6th of August. I have waited patiently until the 4th of September when I called the alnwick branch ( as I was told branch I visited is not always open) to ask about my glasses. Shortly after I get several missed calls and an angry voicemail . Obviously the receptionist wasn't happy that I called the head office. Proceeded to say that they left me a voicemail on the 18th but I never replied. Yet again my fault. I have no phone calls recorded on any other day aside from the 4th when they managed to call me 5 times and leave 2 voicemails. I chose this optician based on the fact that their branch is in walking distance to my home . Next time I would sooner travel to London on foot than use their services and I wish I could have given them no stars
