The staff in this home are well over worked they are so nice aswell. But the down fall is poor management and the management have no people skills or respect for the residents in the slightest shame on them. When in disagreement with the manager leigh she over talks yous doesn't allow you an opinion she talk down to you like a child. And when you travel quite away u get told you are only allowed one visit and that's outside and that is quite terrible if you ask me considering that is my family members home. I'm just so thankful I've found my mam a home that is more suited to her needs and can't wait for her to move into it in due course

A well managed home, which has suffered and come through the horrible times of COVID. With the full support of everyone from Directors to cleaners; residents receive the highest of care. Very clean, safe and great food. This can be seen from the tidy gardens to the fresh smell and up-to-date decoration. CQC about Aspen Court on 4 August 2022. We have not found evidence that we need to reassess the rating at this stage.

I couldn't agree with the previous reviewer Lenny more. The manager Leigh Brown is worse than a disgrace, she is totally unreasonable and defends her staff against any Safeguarding by banning visitors long term with a very aggressive unhelpful attitude. This was very detrimental to my mother's wellbeing as the GP told her . This a result of the staff immediately making false accusations against me to defend themselves as 'Attack is the best form of defence'. I have read her reply to my review on Carehome.co.uk and I never posed any verbal or physical risk to residents or staff. I am in fact severely disabled in a wheelchair. It her who is volatile and totally unreasonable and disbelieving of innocent visitors who are only trying to help their loved ones. As one member of staff said to me 'She is a good manager because she protects us'. Yes, against the indefensible! My mother who became underweight told me the food was better when she was in the Freeman Hospital. The unfair restrictions put on me were to be challenged by the Court Of Protection as possibly being 'unlawful' but sadly my dear mam passed away at Aspen before the hearing. This like many homes Aspen might be ok for respite or relatively short stay as long as you don't have any reason to criticise them, but I would strongly recommend you think very carefully before you put your loved ones in here, especially if they are bedbound. CQC assessments are only a two day snapshot of the true running of homes and do not always reflect the DREADFUL experiences some residents and relatives have to endure. On one occasion I said to the CQC I had been bullied by Leigh Brown whilst in the presence of my uncle . After the CQC Inspector had spoken to her Ms. Brown told me she had been contacted and said to me 'We will leave it at that', as if accepting her malicious behaviour. JUDGE YOURSELF FROM THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS.
