My partner and I have just moved into our new home - we couldnt be happier with the help we have received from Safeguard in getting a mortgage and insurance etc. for our home. Jonathan has been so helpful throughout the process, and Scott has always kept us up to date which really put our minds at ease. Thank you both for making buying our new home such a stress free process!

I am genuinely really confused why me and my partner have had such a bad experience in comparison to all of the other reviews here. I certainly wouldnt recommend this company when applying for a mortgage. I am not a first time buyer and have done this process before and so I do know what to expect etc. When we first contacted Safeguard, they were really friendly and quick to answer calls and Liam looked after us and we were initially really happy and pleased with the service. However, it quickly became apparent thats number of careless mistakes were made. First of all, the wrong mortgage was applied for and it wasnt until we noticed this and notified them that it was brought to their attention. We have all email chains showing exactly which mortgage we wanted to apply for and so there are no excuses for miscommunication. Next, when they had applied for our mortgage, they seemingly made up my partners phone number because they hadnt asked for it, meaning that his personal details were shared to a random phone number, which is a breach of GDPR (it was clear the number has been made up because they had used my phone number for his phone number and changed the last digit). This also meant he was unable to view the mortgage offer because the password has been sent to a random phone number. Finally, instead of asking us the bank account that we wanted to set the mortgage up with, they assumed wed be using my bank account. This has really upset me as this was not a question asked and when I rang up to change it, they said that wasnt possible and I should have been asked by Liam. To me, it looks as though they dont care about their customer and instead rush to complete the mortgage as quick as possible, without going through proper procedures. I spoke to one of the advisors on 2 occasions and expressed how unhappy I was to which they said Liam would ring me. However, he has not rang me or contacted me, which is funny considering when he wanted a deal he was extremely quick to answer. Overall, please avoid this company. There are plenty of other better advisors in Newcastle. I really wish I hadnt of chosen the cheapest option.

Can't recommend Safeguard enough! As a first-time buyer, I didn't have much of a clue about purchasing a house, but John-Paul at Safeguard was very patient and explained everything to me in great detail so that I understood everything that was happening and was going to happen, and even accommodated me so that we were able to call after working hours on a number of occasions. He managed to get me the best possible mortgage deal and has made the whole process a lot smoother than it might have been! Thank you John-Paul and the Safeguard team!
