Gateshead Council Fostering Services

We have been fostering for Gateshead Council for 9 years mainly teenagers, both short and long term, we have 3 children in placement. We can honestly say we wish we had started years ago. It isn't always easy but so rewarding and fulfilling when you see them start to relax and get where you're coming from. When they realise that you are there to help and support them and have no ulterior motive other than to give them the best life possible. We are well supported by Gateshead Social Services, both our Supervising Social Worker and the Children's Social Workers, training is second to none. We would highly recommend Gateshead Fostering Services.

I've been with Gateshead council 2years and have had great 24 hour support. Training is very helpful when you have foster children and there's lots available .I have made new friends through training courses. I have been very lucky with my placement only had one and going long term with them . And had lots of help and support through this to get me where I am today .

Gateshead fostering service is a fantastic authority to foster with. We receive high quality training and constant 24 hour support. I've been with the authority for over five years and experienced several types of fostering before we settled on which fit with our family. Choosing to foster was a life changing descision for our family and Gateshead Fostering Services gave us the support and guidance we need to get started.
