We recently moved house and within 2 weeks the automated garage door unit originally installed by Lakes Doors stopped working. I checked the system with a meter and found that the power supply had failed. This information was passed to Lakes Doors so that a suitable engineer could be sent. Instead a pair of fitters attended. They were not electricians and were forbidden from even opening the units. After they had consulted with their office I was informed that a complete new system was required, despite not even examining the defective power unit. Cost, 450 and the current unit was out of its 5 year warranty by one week. I rang the office to express my displeasure. I was curtly told to wait, whilst they consulted with the manufacturer to see if any arrangement could be made. It is now 10 weeks since then and no update has been received. In the interim the motor unit fell off the track as well. We have now had new units fitted by a professional company, from Bamber Bridge. Our experience is that the units Lakes Doors sell are not adequate and their after sales service is abysmal.

Lakes Doors fitted Garador doors to our newly built double garage a few years ago. The fitters were efficient, personable and the product we chose from a wide range was of a high quality and has worked seamlessly and well since installation. Over last few weeks, one of the doors began to struggle to close. We rang the company expecting someone would have to visit but they were immediately able to talk us through a process to ensure the door learnt how to use its power again .....as they put it.!! They are also supplying us with new batteries for one of the hand sets.Door working smoothly again and it feels rare to get such excellent hassle free service so promptly and we were very impressed again as we had been on installation . Would definitely recommend to neighbours and friends.
