Contacted John in relation to a large patio overhaul. The scope included groundwork & building of gabion walls and a full patio replacement. We were very impressed with the work ethic & ideas that John & his guys brought to the job. They helped with practical advice ( design, patio colour layout etc). They worked cleanly, politely and were reliable. I would not fail to recommend them for small, medium or ambitious projects. I would strongly recommend that you do not use this business. They were employed to lay a garden path. It took 5 months to arrange. The men used a pre mixed cement to bed the stones on. At first it looked good but over the following year the rain washed a large proportion of the cement away. It clearly had not set because the mix was not in the right proportions. If you rub the cement in the joints between the stones with your finger it rubs away as a loose sand mixture would. I made several telephone calls to the proprietor John Duffy and when I actually spoke to him he said that he would come round and have a look but he never did. On other occasions I left a message for Mr Duffy to get back to me but he never did. I wrote to him but he never replied. The path will need rectification work. The loose/sandy pointing will need scraping out and virtually the whole length of path will need to be repointed with a cement mix that sets hard and that will therefore withstand normal weather conditions. Hopefully it will not be necessary to re-lay the whole path but that is uncertain at the moment. This was an expensive project costing many thousands of pounds and you would not expect it to need redoing after such a short period of time. The attitude of Mr Duffy is clearly one of do not want to know. Services: Hardscaping, Paving job site preparation
