I nipped here for a family dinner recently having last visited over 10 years ago.. not much has changed but there are a good couple of Lagers on draught and the menu is simple but was tasty and more than adequate when it arrived. The sun was out but it was pretty windy so as much as the outdoor terrace looked inviting I quickly retreated inside! A decent family pub if you want to nip for something to eat and not spend much. Would visit again if it was part of an invitation from friends but probably wouldnt be my first choice of S10 pubs.

We came here after a trip to the Peak District, it was rather busy however managed to get a table and got told the food would be 40 mins - 1hour wait. We thought this was fine as it was bank holiday so understood some delays can happen. We had an autistic child and a 1 year told therefore after 1hour 20mins, we asked how long it would be, to them be told itll be 15 mins and offered us a free drink as an apology. We then got our food 1 hour and 50 mins after ordering, for it to come back either not cooked or too overly cooked. The fries with the burger meal, the kids meals and on its own were barely cooked - quite hard and the steak (ordered medium) came well done , very tough and was dry. Along with this the vegetarian burger meat patty was crumbling apart because it was burnt. We called a member of staff over who rudely advised we only had been waiting 20 mins over the expected time as a response, therefore we asked him to get the order ticket and he corrected himself. He kept apologising for the food, and advised he couldnt re fund us and could only re cook the steak(nothing else as there was various other errors) - he did even say himseld he wouldnt pay for what we had given him. we asked for a refund instead as we had had a pregnant lady, two unrested children with us - as one is Autistic, it isnt easy to wait much longer. We felt the staff knew the issues around the meal, as we had paid 96 - the wait was unacceptable and the meal placed infront of us was appauling. On top of this, the lack of understanding for families and the rudeness displayed when questioning a customer on their wait time was certainly not good service. I would not waste your money coming here again
