This church is a prime example of how the church of England have lost so many followers in the last 30 years. They use Catholic liturgy prayers and swear by the creed yet destroy the sacraments of the church ( why ritual n bless communion when it's not substantiated!!). This church has female clergy( scripturally unbiblical) and wave multi coloured flags during pride month promoting homosexuality!!! Infact a vicar in there diocese lives with another man and the Bishop is ok with this!! This church only had 15 people attending on Christmas eve. Protestant are either turning atheist or going evangelical, who can blame them. The Anglican church is a total mess!! Avoid St James!! The vicar still wears a mask even though its an abomination in Corinthians n a satanic symbol.

This church is an example of how Victorian craftsmen at their best could rival their much-lauded Medieval predecessors. My main reason for visiting, in November 2021, was to see the four opus sectile panels by J Powell and Sons. They depict St James, St Michael, the Virgin and Child, and Christ with Orb and Sceptre: each is a memorial and each is splendid. I have promised the very friendly and helpful Mr Nick Bagge, who works in the office at the church, a paper on the panels so that the church can provide more information to visitors.
