The Carpenters Arms

The childrens garden area was dirty, lots of broken old toys (like a scrap yard) when I requested a highchair it arrived dirty. Myself and my mum ordered the ravioli - it arrived cold, kudos to the waiter who took it back to the kitchen and apologised. However the dish itself was more like a starter, when it arrived second time hot it tasted delicious but it was not filling enough. So confusing as the tuna steak dish came with a massive pile of chips and the kids burger was huge. I think the restaurant is confused whether its fine dining or pub grub. The bill arrived and wed been over charged for extra beers and apple juice and my glass of wine was missing from the bill. All in all a very underwhelming and disappointing experience.

After reading the reviews my wife and I booked for lunch on Friday. We both had the Haddock and thrice cooked chips with mushy peas mmm delicious! Very friendly pub with excellent, prompt service. I love the sign outside that welcomes muddy boots, dogs and kids!

Wow. Been for drinks a few times but decided to try the food today. The sun was out and it was very busy but I can honestly say it was worth the wait. The food was delicious. Lovely staff too. We will definitely be back.
