We love Alwan and love to get treats for our neighbours & family during special holidays. One thing I noticed is a fly flying in the biscuits which was really unhygienic. I would recommend putting flaps so its not open to flies especially as its sweet stuff. I did notice when coming from outside staff would wear gloves which I liked, however, when I was served the lady had the glove in her pocket, took it out and wore it again. For hygiene purposes I would really have loved new gloves. The staff arent friendly. They seemed helpful but cold. It would be nice to be greeted and welcomed. Rather they just stare at you. The shop has a lot of potential and it would be a better experience if small changes are made. I dont want to have anything that flies/fly has sat on which could potentially make me and the people Ive given sweets to sick. Apart from that I would recommend. Would I go back? Well see.

What an awesome place. It has been titled The Harrods of Brent . Beautifully decorated with amazing artwork on the walls and most eye catching chandeliers that shine up the shop floor. The variety of warm served nuts is something that I had not experienced in England. Middle Eastern and Turkish sweets. Top Saffron arranged like units of Gold. Traditional tea serving sets. All kinds of dried slices of fruits that turn your day into the healthiest day ever. Mouth watering olives mix collection is set in one corner of the shop. Also they have a cake making service for all occasions. Very friendly and hospitable service by the young team who are dressed up to serve carrying the sweet logo of Alwan Sweets and Nuts. They even are happy to provide engagement and wedding guests gifts with an outstanding collection of hand made souvenirs. Oh and I advice shoppers to ask for your complimentary cup of traditional Arabic coffee that is served beautifully with cardamom or plain. The shop is must see. Also you should check out their regular updates. Ready for all cultural occasions

Quality going down, rates going up particularly on kernel cashews being low quality and smaller size and dates becoming more expensive, last year paid 35 and this year paid 45
