We have been lucky enough to use the services of Harrison Brookes Architects for two of our properties. The first was a major renovation and the second involved the conversion of a barn attached to a Listed Devon Longhouse in a Conservation village on Dartmoor. Notoriously difficult to get Planning. In both cases, everything went smoothly and their experience dealing with old buildings sensitively was outstanding. We recommend this Practice without hesitation.

Harrison Brookes supported us with substantial work to a listed building in Frome. They provided an excellent service from start to finish, from the architectural expertise we were looking for to advice on practicalities such as materials choice, kitchen layout and navigating the process for obtaining listed building consent. Their support to us covered initial design ideas; preparing scale drawings; making applications for planning permission and listed building consent, including advice on how to give ourselves the best chances of getting permission granted; preparing a building schedule and selecting a builder; bringing in a structural engineer for one part of the build that required it; identifying suppliers of critical items such as windows and sliding doors; and, managing the contract through to completion. Throughout, the service was knowledgeable, friendly, patient and reassuring, and we are delighted with the final result. We are very glad we chose to work with Harrison Brookes.
