Inception Planning

I appointed Inception Planning to help with a stressful enforcement notice I had from my local council. They were recommended by my architect after another consultant declined to take my case due to the niche nature of my situation. I was concerned about how expensive this process would be, but it turned out to be exactly what was quoted, with no hidden extras. I feel the service I received was thoughtful and tailored for my situation. Not a cookie-cutter approach at all. They patiently answered all my questions and we worked together to formulate the planning applications. The best thing was obviously when I received a positive outcome for my application, but hiring Nick and his team meant that the whole process was as stress free as possible.

This review is not designed to provide a legal appraisal of their handling of my case and is simply offered as my personal opinion of how they engaged with us on a recent planning appeal. I was fully aware that appeals could not be guaranteed when we started the process, however, I have concerns about their overall engagement with us. We explained our case and they agreed to act for us. The first draft of the appeal letter was basic (in my opinion) and I felt some items were missing. They made minor amendments but didnt materially change the appeal submission. The planning inspector ultimately rejected the appeal and although not specifically stated within his report I consider the missing items had an impact on that decision. I also felt that there was a lack of engagement and suggestions about what to do next when the appeal came back. Overall, I would recommend using another company.

Inception Planning provided a very professional and comprehensive service when I needed help finding my way through the complicated process of obtaining Planning Permission recently. I appointed Nick Griffin from Inception Planning six months ago, for what should have been relatively simple planning applications, have turned out to be quite complicated, due to Council hold ups. Throughout the whole process, Nick has been utterly professional and always on hand for advice and support. There is no way I could have handled all of this on my own and I am so glad that I employed Inception Planning right at the beginning.
