Dove House

Our family (three generations) stayed at Dove house for a special birthday celebration in August 2022. From the moment we arrived, the house exceeded our expectations: beautiful surroundings with view across fields, horses in the field next to us (which the children loved) and a quiet, peaceful location. Our highlights were the pool (kids were in there as soon as they woke up!), the games room and table tennis and the generous living space. Cooking and serving up for 12 people isn't easy but the kitchen was so big and well laid out which made it easier. The undercover outdoor space was great for shade (no rain during our week, luckily) and we spent many evenings sat out there relaxing whilst the kids played in the garden. All of the bedrooms and en-suites were very clean and spacious too. It really is a wonderful property. We hope to return one day - perhaps for the next big birthday in our family!

Stayed in Swallows cottage for a week self-catering. Great place, nicely furnished and provided all the necessities for an enjoyable break. A couple of local walks of around an hour provided exercise first thing most days and took in the gorgeous surrounding farm landscape and some wildlife, including deer, owls, hares. Clear skies at night showed the full glory of the stars; unmatched peace and tranquility prevailed throughout our stay. Used it as a base to visit Portland, Corfe, Bridport and our two faves - Abbotsbury and Burton Bradstock just a few miles drive away. A thoroughly enjoyable stay.

What a fabulous place Dove House is! The perfect setting for our intimate wedding celebrations. Each room is exceptionally furnished and equipped with everything and more any guest could need during their stay. Our guests were wowed by the tasteful decor and spacious rooms throughout. Come rain or shine there is always something to do from the indoor pool (the seperate shower room was a bonus after a swim) the games room, table tennis and tennis courts, even lawn croquet, and more that we didn't have time for (we wished we had booked more than a weeks stay!) We must say the huge selection of board games are a great touch that brought us all together till the wee small hours! A huge thank you Pippa and Hugo for your warm welcome and thoughtfulness during our stay at Dove House. Your hard work in it's upkeep is obvious in its presentation inside and out. We would love to stay again and enjoy this perfect location some more, no wonder soo many guests return again and again. You deserve all your raving reviews for such a fantastic place.
