When we walked in we were greeted by a lady who couldn't have been nicer, she was friendly, cheerful and helpful. The building dates from the 15th century and has a great, classy atmosphere and lots of character with a lovely cosy feel with 2 wood burners making it warm and cosy, I know this will upset some people who would have to glue themselves to the road and whine about climate change but this makes it an even more of an enjoyable place to visit. We had 2 large flat whites and 2 cookies for 8.00 which is probably about 2.00 cheaper than most coffee shops so great value. Definitely worth a visit.

The ambiance was very nice on a cold winter's day. But the welcome was hardly warm and continued chilly! The food was lack lustre. Menu items were not available and those that were quite poor. The fishcakes were fairly tasteless and the accompanying vegetables undercooked. Such a shame when a little more care in the kitchen and a dose at charm school for the staff could make such an improvement.
