We camped on the hill and had a fantastic view. The river welcomed a wake up dip and we spent lots of time swimming. We hired a boat and rowed our way to Oundle for lunch which took 2.5 hours. The Tap and Kitchen in Oundle served fantastic food. The village of Fotheringhay is petite and has a good pub as well as a beautiful church. The campsite is basic with two portaloos and a water tap. There are some lovely spots by the river. The views and sunsets are spectacular. There were sheep in the fields around us which the children loved looking at and they were cool. All in all a great outdoor experience and recommended. Management were very friendly and helpful. Fire wood was available from a local at 7.50 per bag.
