We loved Seaview Cottage. Pre-arrival information was outstanding and the owner Graham was really helpful and informative. Great location - just 2 minute walk down to Chiswell. Comfy, clean, quiet, secure. Beds comfy, nice big tele with firestick so amazon and netflix etc.....great fast wifi, well equipped kitchen, nice shower and the new terrace was fabulous - we ate breakfast out there every morning and it was entirely secure for our little dog. Also there is a lovely quiet park just over the road for essential little dog walk duties before bed. Parking really easy on the street - had no problems parking or loading/unloading the car on any day at any time. Have read previous reviews and yes its not all glossy finish and the stairs require some concentration but at this price compared to other places we have stayed we loved it - it ticked all the boxes. As for Portland it was fantastic - everywhere we ate was absolutely fab - Quiddles, The Taste Cafe, The Cove Inn, The Crabhouse Cafe, Portland Pizza. My sister had a facial at Ukiyo in Easton which was amazing. We LOVED the 501 open top bus to Portland Bill, we bought fab seafood from Dorset Shellfish on the industrial estate. We had a lovely boat trip on The Fleet Observer and we had an amazing private swim lesson in the Cove with Fay at Jurassiccoastswimming.....so we've come home very happy - we'll be back

Although this cottage was very clean and well equipped it was also cold and somewhat damp. The stairs and outside steps are very steep, the double bed dipped in the middle and we could not get the log burner to draw just when we needed it most (gales and pouring rain). We stayed for the full 10 days we had booked as we love the area and we rewarded by 2 fine days so spent some time trying to keep warm in this cottage. I should have read the reviews more carefully but we were eager to get away.

What a corker of a cottage! We had an absolutely brilliant week away and as a family of four it has everything we needed. Really cosy , and with a real fire , we stayed in most evenings and there was ample room for our two little ones to play and explore inside. The attic room was their favourite and felt like a real adventure for them going to sleep there every night. So much to do within walking distance , helicopters near the castle , beach walks , cliff trails and a short car ride away is the lighthouse . The quarry is also a must if you have young kids , just like a playground but so much more fun they explored caves, sculptures and they had just the best time. And of course the joys of Weymouth are just down the road! Hosts were really helpful and on hand should you need anything. Would wholeheartedly recommend if youre looking for a classic family British holiday and escape from hustle and bustle of life. Thanks for a great stay ! Maja
