We have used Joe Taylor for 3 years on numerous projects while living in Tunbridge Wells and could not recommend him and his team highly enough. Joe has removed a load bearing wall in our house, undertaken re-wiring in our old Victorian property, laid oak flooring, over-boarded an original ceiling which was in a state of disrepair, undertaken plaster work to improve the look of a bedroom wall, and most recently, investigated and fixed a leaking chimney stack (in relation to which other specialist roofing firms had been unable to fix the problem!). Joe and his team have super high standards, always leave everything tidy at the end of the day, are communicative throughout their jobs and are very friendly and trustworthy. Joe also always explains everything he is doing so well which gives real peace of mind when you are embarking on a project. I engaged Joe and his team to rebuild, as an emergency, an external wall of my house that had failed chiefly due to alterations carried out in past years. The problem was only discovered as I carried out some preparatory work for the refurbishment to the bathroom I didn't receive nor expect a price in advance because the full extent of the work would only be revealed as the work progressed. As it turned out the work involved rebuilding part of the internal skin of the wall and tying it back to the external skin and cross wall from which it had pulled away. The work, consisting of demolition, brickwork, and plastering was completed in 2 days. The details of the work were discussed fully as the work progressed and I quickly gained trust that Joe and the tradesmen were fully confident in what they were doing and that the problem would be remedied, The end result is that the house is now structurally stable and a worrying situation has been properly addressed. The work was carried out in the kitchen and bathroom and great care was taken to protect the kitchen fittings and stair carpets, and limit the spread of dust. On completion the workplace was cleared and cleaned. It's obvious that Joe has assembled a team of competent and reliable tradesmen, and that they respect the values and standards that he holds in the way he manages and carries out building works. Finally I got a fully detailed invoice with a breakdown of the hours spent by the various tradesmen, with a very fair price to boot. As a former Building Project Manager and Property Director of two major hotel chains I can unreservedly recommend Joe to anyone who is looking for a competent builder.
