I had quite a specific tiling job that I wanted to have done in my recently renovated kitchen, but for months had failed to find a tiler willing to take it on (it was too specialised and unusual for many). Luckily for me I eventually found Standard Building & Design, and from the beginning their whole attitude was yes we can rather than finding reasons not to. Communication was always easy and efficient. There was plenty of information available from the Dutch company (DTile) that manufactures the tiles, and one of the first things the guys did was to email DTile and ask relevant and proactive questions - something none of the other tradesmen even considered doing. The job was completed in less than a week and my kitchen looks amazing! Their very precise workmanship, attention to detail and considerate attitude were a breath of fresh air. The house was always left clean and tidy and billing was fair and transparent. The kitchen tiling was part of a bigger job that involved correcting a damp issue in a basement bedroom and repairing a crumbling garden wall. I cant yet comment on the latter as it has to wait for drier weather, but the bedroom was handled in a similarly professional manner. The affected wall was treated, re-boarded and plastered, and the floor was replaced. I was kept well-informed throughout and given the opportunity to change anything that would increase costs or result in delays. These two gents are the first builders Ive found in a very long time that I have no hesitation in recommending.

I was highly impressed by the care and attention that Volker and Aaron took in putting a new kitchen and new doors in my flat . The job they did was to a high quality with precision and I love my new kitchen and doors and I would highly recommend them .

Standard Building & Design replaced my whole roof in 2022, following storm damage to the decaying roof which was in dire need or renewal (est. 20-30 years since previous installation). The team are friendly, articulate and helpful when it comes to honest advice and working with your budget. Very satisfied with the job and it's really updated the look and feel of the exterior; I've also had neighbours commenting how good it looks. Pic is taken from about 500m away from a back road, since it's a three story terrace and hard to snap the whole road from closer. Also getting my interior doors fitted by the team in due course. Highly recommended.
