Super fragments of pre-conquest sculpture - animals, tree of life, figures and floral cross grave slabs. Delightful Victorian encaustic tiles in the chancel designed by Pugin (Big Ben architect) for the Minton factory (carefully checked this), including Alpha-Omega and the symbols of the evangelists. Also interesting brass and worn stone medieval monuments. A good excursion with Stanwick church and the Romano-british ramparts.
