I decided to take on the 6 week challenge because I knew it was time I needed to do something. Id always enjoyed exercise and to be honest didnt have a huge problem with the way I looked in photos or when I walked past a mirror or how clothes fitted me. But then lockdown happened and I had my son and I wasnt my main focus anymore, but he was coming up to 2 and I realised I was becoming uncomfortable in myself, I wanted to feel better in myself, get my fitness back up and to get back to something I used to enjoy but I also knew I needed help and to be held accountable so I didnt give up just because it felt uncomfortable. I was also worried about finding something that I could do while also juggling work and home life as well. Id seen some of Alis posts on Facebook and kept thinking about it and eventually messaged him and joined the 6 week challenge in January. Alis been really positive and encouraging and Ive never once regretted joining up. It took me a while to get my head round some of the aspects but Ali answered any questions I had and then everything clicked into place. By the end of the six weeks I had lost weight, inches, wasnt squeezing into my jeans but most importantly my fitness levels were getting better, I was feeling more confident in myself and feeling more like me again. Since the challenge ended Ive continued going to AGG classes and getting stronger, even getting back into my pre-lockdown jeans! Definitely have no regrets getting in touch with Ali and 100% recommend getting in touch to anyone thats thinking of doing it!

AGF Fitness had been popping up on my Facebook, and Id been thinking about doing the 6 week challenge for a while, but with my husbands work schedule it was tricky to fit it in. By chance this one fell on a period that my husband wouldnt (shouldnt) of been travelling as much. Im really glad I joined. The classes were amazing, everyone was lovely with a real team spirit. I didnt feel insecure about my body or level of fitness. We received great advice and guidance for routine, sleep and nutrition. Sadly for me, life happened - poorly children (passing bugs onto me too) and my husband ended up working away/late. So I was unable to go to as many classes as I would of liked too. I do feel Ali helped retrain my mindset, these things will happen and todays a new day. So I kept my step count up, and ate well when I couldnt get to the classes and I still lost 2kg, 28cm, gained a whole of of energy, felt stronger and my clothes were fitting better. So thank Ali for the kick up the bottom I needed!

Id been coming to AGF classes for a while but decided to take on the six week challenge to help give me more focus and accountability. I wasnt really sure if Id learn much from it, as I already knew that losing weight is all about a calorie deficit but I decided to trust in the process and give it a go anyway; as Id never really stuck to anything properly before when going it alone. Turns out that was the best decision! I feel like I learnt loads along the way and having Ali and the group to check in with each week really helped. I always used to have an all or nothing mentality before but Ali is really good at helping you to realise that making even the smallest of changes each day, can all add up to a big difference. Ali sets you up with achievable targets so theres no guess work and the classes are the best Ive ever been to. Everyone there is so friendly and supportive and Ive made so many friends along the way. All whilst also becoming the fittest and strongest Ive ever been. I decided not to weigh myself until the end of the six weeks but I could tell that I was losing weight as my jeans started to feel less tight as the weeks went by! Turns out I lost 8kg and several inches (mainly from my waist!) and Ive created really good habits to carry on with. And the best part? in those six weeks, I had pub lunches, takeaways, cocktail nights out with the girls and even the AGF Christmas party and I still managed to stay well within my targets so could do all of that guilt free. The biggest game changer of all for me has been the change in my mindset. As Ali always says, its not about motivation, its about discipline so if youre reading this thinking you dont have the time or the motivation to fit all this in, stop waiting for the right time and just crack on and do it anyway. You wont regret it, promise!

Before I started the six week challenge, I felt seriously out of shape. I had played rugby for years, but had stopped and had two children quite quickly, my weight ballooned and I was feeling very unfit. During the first lockdown, I picked up a knee injury from doing some yoga with the kids (not from the years of rugby!). Both mentally and physically I was in a pretty dark place, too afraid to do any kind of fitness because I was embarrassed about how big I was and unfit I was. I was too embarrassed to go to the doctors to ask for help with my knee. I have always tried lots of different diets and this was to varying degrees of success, but mainly Id lose weight and then put it all back on plus some. My first encounter with Ali and AGF Fitness was the Busy Mums challenge he ran I managed to stick it out, but thats because it was a week and I could do it from home with no-one watching me! However, after the challenge old habits crept in and things didnt change very much, apart from the daily emails Id read from Ali. I was desperate for help, but just couldnt bring myself to do it. The thing that drew me to it initially was Alis no nonsense approach really. He emailed about the six weeks challenge and I thought perhaps I should ask what times the sessions would run, Ali was really engaging, from that first email I found him easy going and easy to talk to. He invited me down for a chat and a session and lo and behold I went. I had also made some other pretty major life changes, but this challenge feels like it really has made such a difference to my life. The biggest change has been to my mental health, I feel so much better and I feel like me again. I have lost inches all over and I am needing to buy new outfits, because the things I had are too big. My husband has seen a difference in me and I have been less stressed out. Before I used to seriously worry about my health I would worry about walking up stairs in case I had a heart attack! I love the classes, I love the community that you become part of, and I love the way I am feeling. The best thing about the classes is being able to work within your own capabilities, but also being encouraged by everyone to push myself. The exercises can be adapted to your ability and injuries are taken into account, my knee is not so much of a problem. Since the six week challenge I have signed up for a membership and it feels awesome. Thank you Ali and team

Some background for you, its safe to say that having a baby in 2020 and a global pandemic sent my mental health spiralling and it took a lot for me to feel somewhat myself again. During the dark days I depended on pasta and chocolate (which I now know wasnt the problem per say) and Im not mad at that because it was my lifeline. However fast forward to about 8 weeks ago when pasta and chocolate although great had taken its toll on my physical self because I wasnt moving! I avoided mirrors, jeans and although my brain felt abit more normal I still didnt feel like myself, I hated my physical appearance and was caught in a negative cycle. I kept saying when this happens then I will start exercising again but it never came and so the AGF challenge came up on my social media and together with my husbands support we thought carpe diem and I can honestly say my biggest regret is not doing it sooner! I have lost so far 15lbs in total! But the real gain for me is my confidence and the benefits it has had on my mental health, I feel more like myself than now than I have done for nearly 3 years! I no longer avoid jeans and mirrors and now when I miss a session I get FOMO! I want to continue to get fitter and stronger but mainly I want my confidence to continue to grow. I dont think thanks will ever be enough to Ali at AGF! He has been so supportive and got me to sessions, without my husband there as a safety blanket, he has helped my anxiety about going to sessions. The whole AGF family are so welcoming and supportive, everyone wants you to achieve your best! Lets see how strong both physically and mentally I can get in 2023!
