Very friendly! I just wanted to check if they could fix my sunglasses and they did it without charging me anything. What a kind thing, I was very touched. Sep 1st, 2022

My 3 children visited Naomi in Folkestone today for their eye checks. What can I say, absolutely fantastic lady. Made the children completely at ease and had such a kind and caring manner, thoroughly professional and would totally recommend. 2 of the children are verging on the need for glasses for being short sighted and she took the time to go through myopia management to help us work to try to stop their eyes deteriorating further. I bought very expensive varifocals from Cargills several years ago, convinced by the optician that this was the best option for my eyes. I immediately lost them and needed to have them replaced (at full cost, as I didn't have them insured). When I got the new pair, I felt something was wrong as I couldn't see that well through the glasses. I took them back and spoke to the person in the office who assured me that they were exactly the same as the first pair and that there couldn't possibly be anything wrong with the glasses; I insisted and left them with her to be checked. I was subsequently told that they had been checked and were exactly as prescribed. I've hardly worn them, reverting instead to my previous glasses, and always thought it must be the varifocials that I couldn't get used to. It was only when I went for new glasses recently that TWO DIFFERENT opticians in a different town told me independently that these were not varifocial lenses but in fact only suitable for my prescription as reading glasses; my prescription has not changed significantly since buying the varifocals. Both the new opticians were very professional and careful not to make any direct accusations, but it has now become very clear what happened. Avoid Cargill's. An expensive mistake was made; in the best case scenario they are incompetent, in the worst case they covered up their mistake. Either way, I ended up paying for it. Jan 15th, 2023

I visited Cargill's today having found that they are a retailer for Oakley glasses. When I arrived the door was locked. There were three ladies inside so I waited. They looked at each other as if wondering if they should open the door. At last one decides to open the door a few inches and didn't even start conversation. I awkwardly said 'you are Oakley dealers I'm looking for a particular frame' . She said ok I will get one of the other ladies to come and see you when they are available and promptly locked the door on me again. I saw her approach the other ladies and then one of them came to the door, again not fully opening it for me to enter. I explained what I was looking from the porch and she then let me in and started to be a bit more helpful. I understand in these unsettling times that caution should be had to distancing etc, but this is just strange customer service. I researched your company before attending and was pleased to see that you have been around for many years and was willing to travel to another town before realising there was a branch in my home town. I cannot see what you will achieve by adopting this stance with your customers. As a result I have taken my business elsewhere and ordered my glasses directly from Oakley with a discount for being a regular customer! I have never felt so awkward, judged and humiliated in my life and don't intend to go through anything like that again. Dec 25th, 2021
