Good service but we realised afterwards that the tests that have been done before (flu etc) wernt this time. We were put down as a 'testing' case wasnt really made clear as to why

I recently had an unpleasant experience with this company. The engineer arrived and wasn't wearing any PPE. As he stepped into my porch he picked up a leaflet from the floor and handed it to me. As he wasn't wearing PPE, I asked him if he had sanitised his hands. He looked unimpressed, threw the leaflet at me, turned and walked off without saying a word. I called after him to ask where he was going but he ignored me. I was a bit shaken up by the exchange, but assumed he wasn't coming back so closed the door. A couple of minutes later the doorbell rang again and he was back wearing a mask this time. I tried to explain to him that I wasn't happy about what had just happened, he muttered something along the lines of 'Right, that's it' and walked off again. I was taken aback by what had happened, so emailed the company. Unfortunately they didn't take my complaint seriously and the response I got was actually pretty insulting. They said that he didn't respond when I called after him because he wears hearing aids (which may be true but it's still the case that he looked very annoyed, turned around and walked off without a word, which very much suggested he wasn't coming back); and that he didn't throw the leaflet at me but rather "a gust of wind took hold and blew it towards you" (he was in my porch at the time and there was no gust of wind that could possibly have done this - and also, it's pretty easy to tell the difference between someone throwing something and you and something being blown in your direction). Apparently it was all a 'misunderstanding'. I found the company's dismissal of my concerns to be the most hurtful - if they had accepted that their engineer was out of line, rather than creating stories about gusts of wind in my porch, then I wouldn't have posted this review, but to make an excuse that is so implausible is an insult and to me suggests that they don't take complaints seriously.
