Car was involved in a hit and run where the door was hit and flipped 180 degrees, Saga wrote it off as they believed it would cost 65% or more of the cars market value to repair, when the cars market value is about 18,000. They then said they couldnt offer me a courtesy car at all because they can only give out a courtesy car if the vehicle is deemed as repairable even though on their policy it mentions on the spot courtesy car. Ive now been waiting WITHOUT A CAR for about a month and the car is still at the same place it was a month ago just after the accident and in the process of being transferred to a company called co-part for evaluation They do offer cheap insurance for newer cars but dont go to these guys unless you want a headache or help after an accident. Workers in the call centre werent much help at all either, took me about a whole week to retrieve all of that info as they kept on throwing me about like I was some play ball for a cat, for example. How can I get a courtesy car? Saga: Speak to Axa insurance I call Axa Insurance, Hi how can I get a courtesy car? Axa: Speak to Saga and it just went on and on. Ridiculous.

Saga insurance, a company who employ such lovely staff, and offered some great products at competitive prices, what a shame they get things so wrong time after time and the MySaga site to access your documents is less than useless, it appears that they are always having work done on it or if not, they should be. As I have said, the staff are great and try to be really helpful but its a pity some have not mastered there own computer system or have not listened to the customer. A simple issue, one vehicle being disposed of, another vehicle being purchased, the personalised registration number to be transferred from one to the other, Saga notified 7 days before when events go pear shaped.. 7 phone calls to rectify mistakes 5 sets of incorrect documentation, 2 wrong entries on the National Motor Insurance Bureau Data Base. Example - received several sets of documents for the vehicle I had disposed of, wrong registration numbers, entry on the the MIB data base showed my old car insured with my new vehicle make, my new vehicle showing as not insured, a stop by the police highlighted the issue to me, ALL the documents sent hard copy ,except one had the wrong commencement date on the insurance certificate. I was unable to check online because MySaga site wouldnt allow me access to my documentation. However, my last phone call to a pleasant lady, has resulted in the MIB Data base mistakes being rectified, it now shows the correct vehicle, with the correct make and registration number being insured, the incorrect entry being deleted and my old vehicle showing as not insured. The lady concerned even rang me the following day to inform me ALL the issues had been addressed and she would forward me hard copies of the documentation, I wait with bated breath, one wonders will all be correct and this be the end of MY own personal SAGA.
