Romney House

The hosts made us most welcome and the house was a good size for our family get together. The garden was a well fenced and safe for little children and pets, The house was in a residential area but only a short walk from the military canal where we had a lovely walk, could enjoy all the bird song and had a decent cup of coffee at Unit 1 along the way and could enjoy the wildlife. The house also had a ramp to the front door and a downstairs bedroom with a wet room suitable for anyone with a disability which is rare to find.

The accommodation was ok, however what has tarnished the stay was the poor experience with the host and Airbnb. Main issues: - Dirty bed linen and travel cot - Plug sockets and waist height for children to touch - A dead fly in the fridge - Faulty kitchen appliances causing the fuse to blow and the kettle wouldnt stop boiling - There were builders next door, not communicated to us by the company who own the property. Whilst were very friendly and considerate overall, dust was airborne whilst we packed away I raised these issues with FAB short stays (the owners) who eventually offered a pitiful compensation on the provision that we dont leave a review!!! Airbnb got involved, agreed the host has broken the rules but we will now get no compensation. Avoid this host - and well think again before using airbnb
