Nothing really interesting to see the day we were there, but we made the RNLI shopkeepers day by being their first customers!

Went on the ferry 12yrs ago and again last week as we were staying at Fleetwood. Less than 10mins but fun when the tide is coming in fast. Time to walk around Nott end and have some lunch before catching the return ferry. Pay onboard.

Did the short crossing from Fleetwood to Knott End aboard the "Wyre Rose". This quirky little ferry runs every half hour in the summer months (at 15 and 45 minutes past the hour) and every hour in the winter, but tide times do vary so you need to check the timetable before you make the trip. On the day I was here, the last crossing was at 13.45. There's a pleasant seating area next to a quaint little terminal building where you wait for the ferry to berth. Getting on and off the boat might be a bit tricky for some people but there are two crew members on hand if you need any help. You pay with cash on board; it cost just 2, one of the men came round the boat with a bucket and everyone just dropped their money in! You can take a pram or wheelchair on the ferry, and a bike or dog for 50p extra. It took us only 5 minutes to cross the channel but there were some great views of the Wyre estuary and Morecambe Bay. A friendly crew who will sometimes spin the boat round to amuse any kids on board, but they didn't do it this time, which was a bit disappointing! All in all an enjoyable little trip and a very convenient way to get to Knott End and the Wyre villages.
