Paul's PCs

Paul came round and took my PC after it would not switch on. He said he would take it home and diagnose it,He called back later in the day and told us that the motherboard had gone and its not the power supply that he tested..Paul wanted us to pay for it upfront as he had no money which I thought was fair enough. He gave me lots of different prices which seemed quite steep,then when he came back with the final price I asked him where it was from and found the listing on Amazon which was 30 cheaper than what he was asking. He tried to say that he put his profit on the parts as well even tho he quoted us 190 just to replace it. The motherboard was 70 he wanted 100 for the parts plus his time. After feeling very suspicious about the whole transaction we decided to pick the PC up and get the money which we had transferred for the motherboard back (100). When I called at his house he told me the money had already gone out of his bank for debts he had incurred and had to go to the cash point so his dad could give it to us. I asked him how he planned to buy our motherboard if the money had gone and he had none to buy it with, he said he was hoping to buy it the week after as he had other computers to fix. All in all we got the PC and money back I ordered a power supply for 40 which came the next day and I managed to have the PC up and running in 20 minutes. The motherboard was fine. I don't know why people like this try to get away with scamming,but please beware as he could do the same to you.
