This was supposed to be a Mother's Day treat but was a great disappointment. It looked great, but it was all for show. I've got a sweet tooth, but the Rainbow Buttercream Cake just about finished me off - it was so sweet it set my teeth on edge, and any sponge cake flavour (if there was any) was completely swamped. Absolutely beautiful cupcakes. These are my absolute favourite. The sponge is so moist and the icing is soft and delicious. They are presented beautifully as well. My mum often treats me to a box when visiting waitrose.

I got a pack of these 6 fairy cakes from Waitrose for someones birthday and although they look the part they taste awful. At least half of the cupcake is plastic flavoured icing. None of the cakes have individual flavours and the sponge was just bland and boring. They were very disappointing and definitely do not be fooled by how nice they look as that is about all the have going for them.
