- Once we entered the flat, the hallway and one of the bedrooms were flooded with wet floors/walls and skirting boards splitting due to a faulty roof.
- When the agent checked the boiler he realised that it was not working.
- There was mouldy fruit left behind in the kitchen for at least a month from when they were showing people around the flat.
It was very evident that pre-move in checks had not been performed. When the agent noticed the boiler was not working he said that he needs to go back to the office, we heard nothing from him after that so we decided to contact him and his response was that it is not his problem and that we need to sort things out with the Landlord directly, usually I would expect it to be my responsibility contact the landlord throughout the tenancy but considering we hadn't be handed the keys over yet I would expect the agent to take some responsibility. North London Estates advertised and sold us a flat that was liveable in, the flat we arrived at was not and we had to find temporary accommodation (that we had to pay for)
The agent's manner was highly unprofessional as he was constantly swearing, even asking us not to leave a review about our experience. We all have bad days and we really did want to understand the agents perspective but it was shocking how defensive and unhelpful he was.
