Absolutely shocking service to say the least. I called in to book an appointment due to a quite serious complication in the lower region. I made it very clear I wished to see a male doctor and in perticlar I requested a specific male doctor, for obvious reasons. I explained my health issues to which I was told I would need to wait nearly 3 weeks for such appointment. I certainly was not happy however I had little choice so in tune I agreed. The day before my scheduled appointment I recieved a text message saying I had a doctors appointment at 3pm with a female doctor. Immidiayely I called the surgery to explain that they must of got me confused with another patient because I had already Confimed a male doctor. They argues with me and stated that if I wised go see a male doctor I would now have to go to another medical centre some 2 miles away the day after my original appointment at 19.06pm! 1) So I have lost 150 in wages because I had to take Wednesday of work (self employed) all of this was explained initially. 2) I no longer have an appointment with the male doctor as requested and promised. 3) I now have to attend another doctor surgery on another day costing me even more money and time. Absolutely no duty of care was shown. When challenged the response was "We don't compensate for such things so we wont be able to compensate you for loss of earnings". Luckily my mother is a very lawyer and I too understand the law. On the basis of the admission that doctor Thakore acknowledged they made a mistake and is aware of the upset caused and lost earnings I have opted to take the story to Timeout and our local paper and inturn will be addressing the matter via a claims court. After all this, I truly hope this negative publicity encourages the Surgery to take a little more care however I would honestly steer well clear of this centre / surgery.
