This is really special to me to hear what they turned my base into after I left. I was stationed there from 1982- 1985. Some of the best moments of my life. I was planning on retiring there but due to a death in the family I had to leave. But my love of England has never left my mind!

I played in a group The Niteshades, from Stevenage. We did the Airman's and NCO clubs back in 1963. Had some great gigs.

Loved it here, Ross was so informative. Got such a warm welcome. The tour is not to be missed. You see parts of the base you wouldn't normally get to see. Highly recommend a visit.

A visit to this former American airbase has to be arranged in advance. But it is well worth the trip. The guides are passionate and informed as they show you around the disused airfield which is still actively used for ground training activities by military police and security services. The museum is housed in what appears to be a small shed that, once inside, has endless small corridors and rooms with more and more information about the people and events surrounding the use of the airbase. It is nice that much of the material exhibited is about people so we dont forget them. A great place to go!
