SHAME ON YOU SCARBOROUGH CITY COUNCIL!!! This site is a outdated dump , a council run dump , it could be a beautiful site but like all councils they don't put anything back in , The poor staff try thier best but probably have lost heart , Ideal spot and close to the beach and country park but the campsite is not safe as anyone can roam around . The site really is a dump and the most expensive in the area (robbery)

Having previously stayed here before,we decided to stay over the Easter weekend 2023 (4 nights)which we had to pay in full to ensure we had a pitch,we payed a month before we went. We set off that Thursday looking so much forward to the long break after working hard all week. When we arrived my husband went into reception to pay for the deposit for the card for the showers.On paying he was told that Filey had lots of rain the day before,and we were told to go and check ourselves our pitch,and then to take a wide birth to drive to get onto our pitch.They also said that if we get stuck Filey brigg carnt tow you off. So off we went ,we stopped our 4x4 on the road side,and my husband went and checked on foot the pitch which seemed fine under foot, As soon as we drove on to the grass both car and caravan was stuck we were no where near our pitch,as on advice from reception to take a wide birth ,we did as we were told. We tried to push as did several other people tried to help us ,to no avail. So my husband went back to reception and said ,what we did on the advice,but you can not check the whole area,and if a 4x4 is stuck in the mud its not fit for cars nor caravans to go on. Reception said we can not help. At this point my husband then went back to the stuck car and caravan,he tried even placing matting under the tires. I also was speaking to a regular whole visits quite often in his caravan,and he said this is a regular thing to happen,(I didnt get his name),at this stage I was upset and appalled at the state of the site as I could see there were other caravans and motor homes getting bogged down and stuck. So I went to reception,as this point both me and my husband were full of mud,boots were ruined,I went in and kicked off with reception,to be simply left,and no help,I asked the question why is the site still open and why nobody had sent nor emailed to say that Filey brigg had lots of rain and ground was unsuitable for caravans,bear inmind unknown to us they already had shut parts of it down . The reception said ,weve been trying to phone people,that wasnt good enough,as they hadnt notified us or emailed us or texted us,people were still arriving and queuing to get onto the site. I demanded to get a tow truck to tow us out They said give me 20mins and well sort something out. 20mins later a van arrived and pulled us and the caravan out, it then went off to pull more vehicles out. We were left mudded,disappointed ,angry that my break was spoilt, This company is gready ,money,money,money Now roll on three weeks later and still waiting for our full refund,had to send our bank details,the person who owns the caravan site was away,then when the date they were back,still nothing into my bank,had to send another email wanting to know whats going on with my money refund,to be told its now in the hands of the accountant,this is now the 3rd week not good enough,as they want money up front,but not quick enough to give it back. I certainly wouldnt recommend this camp site,nor there customer service skills,nor there grounds,if its a regular thing to happen,either invest in better drainage,or get all hard standings,or better still dont open at all
