Bella Vista Holiday Cottage

We stayed in March 2018 just after all the snow but despite low temperatures, the house was always warm and the log burners lovely in the evenings. The house is well equipped and nicely furnished plus the extras in the house make it great for a winter break - two hoses for hosing down dog and bike, a drying rack for wet gear, coat hooks, a boot rack, an extra heater in the kitchen and a comfy, heated conservatory. Kathy is a very caring owner who has made Bella Vista a proper home and is conscientious about cleaning, repairs and maintenance. The welcome pack of logs, kindling and firefighters as well as tea, coffee, milk and biscuits was much appreciated. We stayed again at Bella Vista for a week in July 2021 (two of us plus dog). It was our second visit and we really enjoyed it - the house is so comfortable, well equipped and welcoming. Kathy has done a lot of planting in the front and back gardens so they looked lovely and we really enjoyed sitting with a cuppa at the bistro table at the front and in the fabulous sun room overlooking the sea. Its just a 5 minute stroll to the beach - great cafe for bacon sarnies or cake. We walked along the beach to Filey, visited RSPB Bempton, went to the Stephen Joseph Theatre in Scarborough, Sledmere House and Cayton Bay beach. We followed Kathys suggestions for seafood at East Coast Shellfish and bought fish&chips from 149 in Bridlington to eat at North Landing in Flamborough - all recommended.
